Our Little-Boomers program was developed by Sports and Exercise Scientists from the University of Technology Sydney, to ensure we are providing the best possible program for children.

Establishing the foundation for your child to become a GOOD role model.

Our Little Boomers Basketball Program is our most popular Boomers basketball course for boys and girls ages 6-8. We develop more challenging gross-motor movements through shooting drills and other basic skills such as a lay-up. This requires a high amount of coordination, allowing your child to progress in skill level. Every week, we also implement the program "CAPTAINS" during a basketball game, for those who display good sportsmanship and other attributes of a good role model.

HOW WILL THIS BENEFIT MY CHILD?

Fantastic opportunity to reduce screen time through the inclusion of a team sport and learning fundamental basketball skills.

Safe and secure: All classes are held indoors and all coaches have valid working with children checks and qualifications .

We will develop your child’s core basketball skills such as dribbling, passing and shooting and provide a game at the end to put those skills into practice

Development of leadership skills as we teach and reward attributes of a good role model throughout each session.

The games we have designed are adaptable to all children making them easy to learn, fun but also challenging at the same time

It's vital at that age (6-8) that children have a positive experience with team sports so they can become better team players in the years to come.

Little Boomers Basketball Training for 8-Year-Olds

Basketball is a great way for kids to get active and improve their coordination. If your child is interested, then there are a few things you can do to help them get started. Finding them an after-school club is the perfect place to start. At Little Boomers Basketball, we help keep your child busy and help develop their movement and coordination skills by teaching them fun basketball drills and other new skills.

For eight-year-olds, basketball training should be all about enjoying while also learning the basics of the game.

Here are a few fun drills for kids that 8-year-olds will enjoy:

  • Dribbling drills: Dribbling is one of the most important skills for ball handling, so it's worth dedicating some time to practicing it.
  • Shooting into a Basketball Net: Set up a basketball net at different distances from the player and see how many shots they can make in a row. After some time, add other players who can focus on training defence.

Putting your child in a basketball team for eight-year-olds is a great way to develop these skills and this is a great age to start playing team sports. They have the energy and enthusiasm to run up and down the court, they're also beginning to develop coordination and tactical awareness, and they can now learn to follow instructions from a coach. If you're looking for a basketball team for 8-year-olds, Little Boomers Basketball is the perfect place to start.

Basketball is great for kids of all age groups. It helps to develop new skills and coordination, and it can be a lot of fun as they make new friends. It is also a great sport that you can get involved with too! Parental supervision is mandatory at Little Boomers, so this could be a great opportunity for you to bond with your child.
